John DAVIES, 82, old resident of Jefferson County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary McCOY near Thompsonville, August 24th. He was born in England August 3, 1845, and settled in Jefferson county in 1889. For several years he operated a flour mill at Thompsonville when there was a dam across the Deleware River. Later he operated a mill at Ozawkie. He retired about 15 years ago. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. McCoy of Thompsonville and Mrs. Anna RICHTENSTERN, Kansas City, Mo., a son, David Davies, Scranton; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.--Topeka Capital.
