Davis. Funeral services for John C. DAVIS, 82, were held in the Burliname Methodist church on Wednesday afternoon, October 30, and burial was made in the Burlingame cemetery. This service followed a previous service which had been held at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary in Topeka at 1 o'clock. Mr. Davis passed away at his home, 2518 Central Park avenue, in Topeka, Monday night, October 28. The Davis family are former very well known residents of this locality, as they lived for several years on the farm two miles north of Burlingame now owned and occupied by W.J. Moore. Mr. Davis is a native Kansan, having been born in Douglas county on January 14, 1858. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Davis, of the home; three sons, Charlie and Clyde Davis, both of Topeka, Henry Davis, of Blue Mound; four daughters, Mrs. Bertha WEYBRIGHT of Lawrence, Mrs. Maggie L. LARGE, of Topeka, Mrs. Nettie V. SHANK, of Topeka, and Mrs. Ruth I. WARK, of Osage City; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
