Mr. J.B. Gates Dead.
Mr.a nd Mrs. E.M. YOUNG were called to Kansas City Friday by the death of Mrs.
Young's brother-in-law, Mr. J.B. GATES, who passed away after an illness of
about three weeks.
James B. Gates, age 43, passed away Tuesday at his home, 1622 South Valley,
Kansas City, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Gates of the home;
one son, Vernon Gates, 3711 Metropolitan Ave.; one daughter, Miss Irene Gates of
the home, 4 brothers, Charles and Loyal Gates, Long Beach, California; Perry and
Clyde Gates, of Santa Anna, California; 2 sisters, Mrs. Charles RUFF, of
Burdette, Kansas; Mr. P.N. DIRKS of Sunnyside, Washington.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:30, followed by
interment in Memorila Park Cemetery.
