Greek. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. W. TWEED at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon for Mrs. L.E. GREEK who died at her home Friday morning. A quartette, Mrs. Herbert HAKES, Miss Veda HAKES, R.B. BRACKNEY and Paul GRAFTON, accompanied by Miss Iva WHITE, sang," Going Down the River One By One," "No Disappointments in Heaven" and "Abide With Me." Wm. POWELL, Peter GABLER, Thomas MOON, Andrew PARSONS, Geroge ADOLF and A.I. MARTENEY acted as pallbearers and burial was in the Burlingame cemetery. Mary A. JAMES, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles James, was born in Blythewood, Canada, on March 9, 1862 and passed away, April 1, 1932, at the age of 70 years and 22 days. She lived in Candada with her parents until she was 15 years old when the family moved to Kansas, settling in Wabaunsee county and later coming to Osage county. On Nov. 2, 1886, she was united in marriage to L.E. Greek and to this union were born three children, one son, Frank Greek, and two daughters, Mrs. Julia M. SWICK and Mrs. Mary B. CLEMENTS, all of Burlingame. Mrs. Greek was converted in her early womanhood and became a member of the Methodist church. She was a devoted wife and mother loved by those who knew her. She had been ill for the past three weeks, suffiering from bronchitis which later developed into pneumonia. She is survived by her husband and children, four sisters, Misses Martha and Carrie JAMES, Mrs. Clara GIFFORD and Mrs. Sarah SIDERS, three brothers, William, Robert and Fred James, and a number of grandchildren.
