She was taken to St. Francis Hospital shortly after the accident from which she sufficiently recovered to return to work. But was again taken ill several weeks ago and taken to Stormont Hospital, where the best medical aid was given her, but without results, and at her request she was taken home January 24th, but the spirit took it's departure to the great beyond. Elizabeth started at the printing shop at Mulberry, Kansas at the age of seventeen years, where she worked for four years; then came to Scranton and worked for Mrs. Canfield at the printing office and in 1924 she went to Topeka and was employed by Crane & Co. until the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her loss, her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bauer, one brother, David R. Griffith, all of the home address and one sister, Bertha M. Griffith, of 716 Madison and a host of relatives and friends. A short service was held at the home at one o'clock by the Rev. Thompson and the body was brought to Scranton, where services were held at the Methodist church at 3:00 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Baungh and the remains were laid to rest in the Scranton cemetery. She was a member of the A.O.U.W. Lodge of Scranton, Kansas. Her last and parting words were: "tell everyone, just tell everyone that I'm going to sleep." A precious one from us is gone, WHome we tried so hard to save. >From friends on earth, loved ones at home; we shall miss dear Elizabeth In way more than we can tell, For your smile and tender love, But for God alone knew what was best So he took her home for eternal rest.
