Here her husband died August 13, 1916. Mrs. Haney continued to make her home in Burlingame until two years ago when she went to the Methodist Home for the Aged in Topeka where she passed away April 1, 1932, having almost reached her 86th year. She was converted in early life and united with the Methodist church. Her special contribution to the church activities in her younger years was singing. She was faithful and devoted, a woman of fine character and splendid disposition. It may be said of her as it was said of Mary, "She hath done what she could." Mr. Haney was a veteran of the Civil War and for many years of her life Mrs. Haney was a devoted member of the Woman's Relief Corps attending its meetings even to the time when she was not able to attend any other. The Relief Corps was present in a body at her funeral. She has many loyal friends in Burlingame who are saddened by her death. There were beautiful floral offerings. She is survived by a nephew, Dan Haney and a niece, Mrs. Will SCHELLMAN of Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. and MRs. Haney and Mr. and Mrs. Schellman were here for the funeral. Four nurses from the Methodist home also attended. Old Burlingame friends, Tom and Dick ELLIS, Robert OLIVER, Dr. Fred SCHENCK, Carl FAST, and Howard DOTY carried the body to its final rest.
