E. HUFFMAN Native of Leavenworth Passed Away Early Yesterday Morning at Home in Kansas City Charles Elmer Huffman, 39 years old and a native of Leavenworth, died at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at his home in Kansas City, Kansas. A week ago he was taken slightly ill with influenza. Pneumonia complications followed and his condition steadily became worse until death occurred yesterday. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. The deceased was born in Leavenworth in the year 1879. As a boy he attended the local schools. He made his home in this city on South Second street, until a few years ago when he moved to Kansas City. Mr. Huffman was widely known locally and was well liked by the large number of friends who will mourn his death. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. C. E. Huffman, of Kansas City, one sister, Edith and a brother, Clinton, who is with the American Expeditionary Force in France. The Leavenworth Post Wed Nov 27, 1918 pg 1 Chas. E. Huffman Dies of Pneumonia Charles Elmer Huffman son of Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam Huffman died this morning at 10 o'clock at his home in Kansas City. He had been ill but a week with pneumonia following influenza. He was 39 years old and unmarried. Mr. Huffman was connected with the Missouri Pacific railroad. He was born and raised in Leavenworth moving to Kansas City only a few years ago. While in Leavenworth he lived on South 2nd Street.
