Has Been Resident Of This Community Many Years. John D. JENKINS was born July 20th, 1855 at Nantyburch, South Wales, and died at the home of daughter, Mrs. Herman St. Louis, November 3, 1933, at the age of 78 years, three months and 5 days. He came to Carbondale, Kansas at the age of twenty-one years and has lived around in this community ever since. On December 6th, 1881, he was united in marriage to Miss Annie BRIDGE and to this union was born four daughters. They are Mrs. Susie TUCKER, of Scranton; Mrs. May HOLANDER, of Logan, Iowa; Mrs. Mabel LaRUE of Kansas City, Kansas and Mrs. Herman St. LOUIS, of Scranton. Three grandsons, two granddaughtters and four great-grandchildren survive him. The wife and mother passed away on March 13, 1924. He was a member of the Welch Congregational Church since he was 12 years of age. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge at Scranton. He was a devoted husband and father and leaves a host of friends. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church, November 6th, 1933, conducted by Rev. J. R. Williams. He was buried in the Scranton cemetery. Card of Thanks.
