After a long illness the sad death of Mrs. John McCarthy occurred at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct 10th, 1915. During all her pain and suffering she was ever patient and sweet. Mrs. McCarthy has been a resident of Dewar for the past two years, during which time she made a wide circle of friends, all of whom extended their sympathies during her illness. Mrs McCarthy was a member of St. Michaels Catholic church of Henryetta. She is survived by many relatives, a husband and two children, Katherine, aged five years and Edward, aged two months, a mother, Mrs. Margaret Connor and four sisters and five brothers, all of whom were with her when death came, with the exception of Mrs. John McGill of Gillespie, Illinois, who could not get here until Sunday evening. Her uncles, Messrs Ed. Cunningham, of McAlester, Okla. Hugh Cunningham, of Bridgeport, Texas and Patrick Connor of Dewar, were at her funeral. Death is sad and while it has left us all with wounded hearts to mourn her loss, 'tis sweet to know that one is so well prepared to meet their Savior as we feel our dear friend was.
