James McDONALD was born in Warren County, Ill., October 21st, 1839, and died May
24th, 1928, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 3 days. He came to Carbondale,
Kansas, with his family in the fall of 1880 where he has resided since.
He was married in January 1860 to Martinette GREEN. To this union 14 children
were born--three dying in infancy. There are eleven children living, twenty-six
grandchildre and thirty-one great-grandchildren. Mr. McDONALD joined the Baptist
Church when a young man in Ill. He later joined the Congregational Church after
coming to Kansas.
He was a well respected citizen and leaves many friends to mourn his passing away.
