Funeral services for Mrs. Peter McFarlane who died Saturday, April 9, 1932 at the home of her stepson, T.H. McFarlane in Kansas City, were held at the Methodist church in Burlingame Monday afternoon at 2:OO o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.W. Tweed who preached from the text, Ps. 90:10. Miss Pearl WHITE played the organ and Mesdames Wm. POWELL and Alex HOTCHKISS, sang "In the Garden," "Some Day 'Twill All Be Over" and "My Wonderful Dream." The body was laid to rest beside her husband in the Burlingame cemetery. Hugh Ina HARPER, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Hugh HARPER, was born in Scotland, May 26, 1870. She came to America in 1905 and was married to Peter McFARLANE. Mr. and Mrs. McFarlane made their home in Burlingame at the present Henry Bumford home until 1914 when they moved to Liberal, Kansas, where he entered the employ of the Rock Island Railroad Company as watchman. Mr. McFarlane preceded her in death about ten months ago and was brought to Burlingame for burial. Mrs. McFarlane had been in failing health for several years and was a great sufferer. After the death of her husband she went to live with her stepson, T.H. McFarlane, in Kansas City where she passed away April 9, 1932 at the age of 61 years, 10 months, and 13 days. She is survived by her stepsons, J.C. McFarlane of Alton, Illinois, and T.H. McFarlane of Kansas City, both of whom were here for her funeral. She leaves a host of friends to mourn her going.
