The funeral services were held under the auspices of the Catholic church, of which the deceased was a faithful and consistent member. Jane Connors was born in Faldhouse, parish of Whitburn, in June 1855, the fifth child of a union between Sarah Hughes and Henry Connors, of county Antrim, Ireland. Her youth was spent at the place of her birth. In 1878 she was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Peter McFarlane, the ceremony being observed in home church. To this union was born two sons, who, with her husband mourn her loss. Tom is a soldier in the Philipines, while John follows railroading with headquarters at Dalhart, Texas. In 1885 Mr. and Mrs. McFarlane came to America, settling in Burlingame, which has ever since been their home, becoming good and useful citizens, and earning and receiving the respect of the community with which they cast their lot. The death of Mrs. McFarlane has been a matter of universal comment in the community, as must always be the case when a good and useful woman is called home. The sons and husband have the sympathy of all. The Burlingame Enterprise (Burlingame, KS) Thur Jan 4, 1906 pg 7 Death of Mrs. McFarlane Mrs. Jane McFarlane, wife of Peter McFarlane, died at her home in South Park on Monday, January 1st, after a lingering illness of several months' duration. Funeral services were held at the house Wednesday morning, January 3rd, at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Father McGeary, of Osage City, after which interment was made in the Burlingame cemetery. Mrs. McFarlane's maiden name was Jane Conners. She was born at Fauldhouse, Scotland, Joy 5th, 1856, making her forty-nine years of age her last birthday. On June 23, 1878, at the same place, she was married to Peter McFarlane, Rev. Father John Grogan officiating. They came to Burlingame in 1885, where they have resided continuouosly ever since. Deceased is survived by a husband and two sons, Thos. H., at present is in the Phillipine Islands, and John C. of Delhart, Texas; also two brothers, Henry Connors, of Fort Smith, Ark., and Patrick Connors, of this city. To the bereaved ones is extended the tender sympathies of many friends in this community. Mrs. McFarlane was indeed a very fine woman, loved and respected by all who knew her.
