Hugh McPHAIL, the 17 year-old-son of Mr. and Mrs. John McPhail of Little Rock, Ark., was drown while swimming in Gilday strips east of town Sunday morning. He and six other boys had gone to the pond to swim, and it seems that he was the first one in. Immediately after reaching the deep part of the strip, which is only a few feet from the bank, he went under. The boys did not go in after him, but went for help, so it was some little time before the body was gotten out. Upon examination the Doctor expressed the opinion that a heart attack, to which he was subject, was the cause of his sinking. Hugh has been working at Davies Produce for the past few montns and had many friends here. Not only relatives, but the entire community was saddened by his sudden death. Short services were held at Cowen's Mortuary Monday noon, and then the body was taken to Arkansas where his parents live, accompanied by Harry McPhail and Mrs. Anna MICHAELS. Funeral services were held at Wynne Arkansas Sunday. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/osage/obits/m/mcphail273ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
