Mrs. "Wes" NICHOLS, an Osage county pioneer of what was long known as the Besse community south of the Dragoon, died early Monday morning, April 11, 1932, of heart failure. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. "Hi" BRIGGS and after her marriage to W.E. NICHOLS she lived on the hill south of the Howell crossing of the Dragoon. Since her husband's death she had continued to live in the old house with her son and his family and it was there she was privileged to depart this life. Mrs. Nichols was a sister of Mrs. Edward SILVER of No. 3 community and besides her children she leaves many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in Madison Chapel yesterday afternoon and burial was in the Highland cemetery.
