Mrs. Schaefer Lived In Community All Her Life. Elizabeth Margaret URICH was born at Carbondale, Kansas, June 30th, 1878, and passed away at the home of her daughters, Mrs. Carl A. JOHNSON and Miss Merle SCHAEFER, of 324 Polk St., Topeka, Kansas, March 29th, 1935, at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 29 days. On February 8th, 1900, she was united in marriage to Henry SCHAEFER. Two daughters, Merle and Beulah were born to this union. Mr. Schaefer preceded her in death May 19th, 1924. The family home was near and in Scranton until the time of Mr. Schaefer's death, after which she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, with her daughters, where she resided until June 1924, when she and Merle joined their home with Beulah, who has been living in Topeka for the past two years. Mrs. Schaefer had not been in good health for several years but on March 8th, 1935, she was confined to her bed and a week later was stricken with paralysis, from which she never regained consciousness. Besides her two daughters she leaves to mourn her departure, two grandchildren, Loren and Jolene JOHNSON, of Topeka; one sister, Mrs. Mary HEROLD, two brothers, Henry and Martin URICH, all of Carbondale and many other relatives and friends. During the family lived at Scranton she was a member of the Phythian Sister Lodge. Funeral services were held at the Scranton Methodist Church, Monday April 1st, at 2 p.m. with Rev. J.R. WILLIAMS in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Cora Middleton and Mrs. Agnes Thomas with Mrs. J.R. Williams at the piano. Pall bearers were Tom Black, Amos Neeley, Wm. TURVEY, Roland Barlow, Norbert Jungman and August Dietrich.
