Sunday afternoon Noel Ellsworth SCHWAB, the six year old son of Supt. and Mrs. C. A. Schwab was drowned while wading in the Dragoon river south of Carbondale. Mr. Schwab with his three sons went ot the river to wade and as the boys were wading up the rive they went into a deep hole. The father being on the bank went in after them and succeeded in getting two of them at one time then back for Noel, and after the third dive was successful in bringing him to the shore where first aid respiration kept him breathing until the arrival of two physicians, but after heroic work to save the boy, the heart refused to work. The body was taken to the home of Mrs. Schwabs parents in Arcadia, Kans., Monday morning for burial. This is a terrible shock to the mother and two sisters at home, also to the entire community., who extend their sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Schwab and family. Little Noel was to have been a pupil in the primary department of the school on Monday September 5th.
