Mrs. May E. Sharp.

May E. WHITTEMORE, was born at Lyndon, Kansas, April 19, 1873, and died at the
hospital in Springfield, Illinios, December 8, 1927, at the age of 54 years, 7
months and 19 days. She moved to Scanton, Kansas in infancy and lived here until
1899.
She was united in marriage to William SHARP, Septembre 13, 1900, at Auburn,
Illinois, at which place she lived until her death.
She was a member of the Universalist Church at Girard, Ill. She had been in poor
health for twenty years, and recently was thought to be much better, but
suddenly became worse and in spite of all that human hands could do, the spirit
took it's departure. 
She is survived by her beloved husband William Sharp, of Kansas City, Mo.; her
father, F.E. Whittemore, of Scranton, Kanas; and two sisters, Mrs. Ross GILKESON
and Mrs. Minnie ARGO, both of Kansas City, Mo.
This is the first death in the Whittemore family since Mrs. Whittemore's
deathover forty-two years ago.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Sunday, December 11, 1927,
at 1:15 p.m. conducted by Rev. H.P. Basquin. The O.E.S. of Burlingame also had
short services at the church, and she was buried beside her mother in the
Scranton Cemetery.
