The deceased came to America in 1881 and in January 1882 she was joined in marriage with Charles SHIVELY. To them were born two sons and two daughters--Edward and James, of Carbondale; Mrs. Cora TAYLOR, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Mrs. A.F. ENGLER, of Topeka. The children, 12 grandchildren and husband, as they look back over mother's kindly life of service and domestic loyalty will find much comfort, and much to inspire them on their pathway through life. Mother Shively lived the quiet, home life, but there are many persons who gratefully testify of how she had befriended them during the lonely and trying times of life. For almost one-half century the deceased had domiciled in the same dwelling. There her life was spent cheerily, and there it was, for almost one year, she suffered so patiently, seeming to be only waiting for the transition to abide in "the house not made with hands." The last services were held from the Federated church of Carbondale, on Monday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.E. Ludwick.--Carbondale Record. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/osage/obits/s/shively229ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
