On Feburary 8, 1872, he was united in marriage with Mary J. ROBISON. To them were born one son and four daughters, three of which died in earlier years. To mourn the departure of a good man, a staunch and prosperous citizen are a wife, one son, Charles, one daughter, Ms. Olin ROBBINS; two brothers, Wickliffe, Belton, Mo., and Appollas of Little Rock, Arkansas; also two sisters, Mrs. Henry ROBERTS, of Carbondale, and Mrs. Olive NICHOLAS of Louisville, Kentucky. three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The deceased came to the vicinity of his recent home in 1872 and lived here ever since, except two years. In his earlier years he associated himself with the Christian church and continued in that faith all these years. Earlier, in Kansas pioneer days Mr. Waltmire was actively interested in conducting singing schools and rural Sunday school work. During the past five years the deceased was in declining health, and since early November, confined to his bed--yet during all these trying years he was ever so patient and gentle, seeking to alleviate the anxieties of the family by suffering in silence. The last services were held on Monday afternoon from the late home conducted by Rev. W.E. Ludwick, Carbondale.
