John WATSON was born January 16, 1860 at Diembartonshire, Cumberland Scotland and died July 1, 1933, at Colorado Springs, at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 15 days. He came to the United States with his parents when he was five years of age. Most of his life was spent in Kansas until his health compelled him to move to Colorado about thirty years ago. He was the oldest of a family of eight children and after the father's death, when John was about sixteen he took over the care and support of his mother and the children, and they all looked on him as a real father. He had a most generous, kindly and unselfish spirit. He was never married, perhaps because of the large family, he felt responsible for, although he would never say that. There are now only two of the family left--Joe of Turner, Kansas; and tom, who lives in Oklahoma. Rev. WILLIAMS had charge of the funeral services which were held at the Methodist church, July 5th at 10:00 a.m. Music was furnished by H.H. COWEN, A.B. BUNTEN and Wm. CARNEY with Mrs. WEESE at the paino. The pallbearers were John MAST, Earl MAST, Otto MONTGOMERY, Watson MONTGOMERY, Norval MABON and Weldone KLINE. Interment was at the Burlingame cemetery. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/osage/obits/w/watson617gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
