Lloyd NEWMAN, familiarly called "Si" by his friends, stole a march on these same friends when he slipped away quietly and was married to Miss Doris FENTON of the Sharon community. So successful has he been in keeping his secret for the past two months that the wedding which took place in Hiawatha, Kansas, February 13, was just announced. Rev. Clarence L. HARDER, pastor of the Methodist church at Auburn, accompanied the couple to Hiawatha and performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. FENTON. She was born near Eskridge, but when about tne years old her parents moved to the farm in the Sharon community where she has lived since. She attended high school at Eskridge for two years and her junior and senior years in the Harveyville Rural High School where she graduated from the Normal Training course. She has taught one year at Little Gem, three at Twinville and four years at Auburn and has made an unusal record as a successful teacher. During the this time she studied one summer at Washburn college and last summer at the Teachers College of Emporia. Mr. Newman belongs to this community, having been born here and educated in the Burlingame schools. He graduated from high school with the class of 1925. For several years he has been engaged in the trucking business here.
