   Probate Judge C. Swartout performed his
first marriage ceremony in his present
official capacity yesterday. The parties
joined in wedlock were Thomas Griffiths
and Clara Gunterman both of Scranton.

   Mrs. Clara Griffith Jackson and Mr.
Joe Bauer, of Topeka, were married
Saturday, February 9th. They will
reside in Topeka.

   D. R. Griffith came home from Quenemo,
Kansas, Saturday evening to visit his
mother, Mrs. Ed E. Jackson and sisters,
Misses Elizabeth and Bertha Griffith.
He will remain here several days and help
his mother pack her household goods to
ship to Quenemo, where they will reside
in the future. Mr. Griffith and Mr.
Jackson are operating a slope coal mine
at Quenemon, and have good prospects for
a growing business.

   Ed E. Jackson and Clara M. Griffith of this
city were married at Girard Monday. The bride
and groom are both well known in Mulberry,
having lived here for some time. Mr. Jackson
has been active in union labor movements and
co-operative enterprises, and during the last
campaign was a speaker and state campaigner
in the interest of the Democratic ticket. 
Mrs. Griffith is the financial secretary of 
the A. O. U. W. lodge of this city, having
held the office for several years. After
the marriage ceremony, Mr. and Mrs Jackson
went to Topeka and Scranton to visit with
Mrs. Jackson's relatives for a few days.
