Files may be printed or copied for personal use only. Mrs. Jane Fanning Gore was born in Mercer county, West Virginia, 17 July 1826, and died 10 Jan 1906. She joined the M. E. church when 12 years of age and always remained a faithful christian. She was united in marriage in 1840 to Joseph Gore. They moved in 1847 to Platt county, MO and in 1888 to Pottawatomie county, KS. Her husband died four years ago. There was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gore fives sons and four daughters. Four sons and two daughters are living. These are H. A. of Sugar Lake, MO; Green, Joseph P. and George W., Curtis, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mary Brown of Madison, Kansas and Mrs. Rebecca Lasater, Piedmont, Kansas. Mrs. Gore since her husband's death had resided upon the old home place with her grandson, J. W. Jackson, who has farmed the place and taken care of her. All of her children were at the bedside when the end came.
