Amish Cemetery
Partridge, Reno County, Kansas

Amish Cemetery is located from South Hutchinson, KS, go about 7 
miles west on US Hwy 50, (you will be able to see the cemetery on 
the north side of the road as you go across the overpass), then 
go north about a hundred feet on Riverton Road, go about 1/2 mile 
east on the unmarked dirt road. The cemetery sits on the north side 
of the road.

E. E. Borntrager deeded a one acre tract to the Amish 
Church Society of Center Township for a cemetery on Jan 23, 1900. 
The legal description is SE corner SW1/4 Sec. 2-24-7. This cemetery 
can be found on the north side of Highway 50 (W. Mills Ave), 2 miles 
northeast of Partridge. This cemetery is listed as the Center Cemetery 
on some maps.

Amish Cemetery graves are mostly marked with identical 
round-top stones that appear to be hand made. In the south/east 
corner there is a large marker with names of sixteen children. The 
bodies of these children, sometime in the past, were move to this 
cemetery from a settlement in Ford County near Bucklin, Kansas. 
This is a well maintained cemetery & appears to still be active. 
For ones convenience there is an old fashion out-house sitting in 
the northeast corner.

I walked and read this cemetery on Aug 20, 2008. It includes 
all existing and legible headstone readings.
