AFTON, Okla. - Wilbur "Wib" Achilles, 72, died June 17, 2004, at his home,
Afton, Okla.

He was born July 30, 1931, at Inman, the son of Clarence and Louise Christine
Theede Achilles. He graduated from Inman High School. He worked for Ely's
Service Station, Inman Mutual Telephone Co., and he owned and operated Achilles
and Sons Utility Construction Co., Inman.

He belonged to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Inman.

On Sept. 9, 1986, he married Dorothy L. Reinert-Brown at Bartlesville, Okla. She
survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Lyle and Jim L., both of Inman; a daughter,
Carla E. Witty, Lenapah, Okla.; a stepson, Larry Brown, Claremore, Okla.; a
stepdaughter, Linda Pierce, Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Norman E., Inman; 11
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in North Inman Cemetery, rural
Inman, with the Rev. Donald J. Bosworth presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m., at Glidden-Ediger
Funeral Home, McPherson.
