Robert W. "Bobby" Jones, SFC, US Army retired S/O James W. and Daisy Jones Zinn.
A longtime resident of Marina, Calif., he moved back to Hutchinson in 1990. He
was a graduated of Hutchinson High School and Monterey California Community
College. He retired from the Army in 1964, and later from the U.S. Navy Resale
System, U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif., in 1984. He served as
director on the Marina County Water Board for eight years, was active in the Boy
Scouts, serving as a Scout Commissioner for the Marina area. He was of All
Saints Episcopal Church, Wastonville, Calif. and Grace Episcopal Church,
Hutchinson. He helped reform the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew Chapter 2850S,
serving as its first Direct. He was a life member of the Brotherhood of Lyle
Reshel Post and the American Legion. On Dec. 1, 1957, he married Sue Catherine
Phillips at Lubbock, Texas. She died May, 30, 1989. He was preceded in death by
two sisters, Joy Starks and Jean Hubbard. Cremation has taken place. A private
family inurnment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery,
Arlington, Va.
