She married Chester Otto Koerner, February 14, 1942. Betty was a vivacious lady and loved life. She went to work during World War II at Walker Air Field near Hays, Kan., thus beginning a life as a Civil Servant. Betty served at Fort Riley, Kan., Fort Carson, Peterson Field and Ent AFB in Colorado Springs, Colo. After retiring from Federal Civil Service, Betty worked as a travel agent, and tour guide, fulfilling one of her loves. She also enjoyed bridge, and formed many bridge clubs as she made more friends. Betty was an active member of the First Christian Church for nearly fifty years. She was President of her Sunday School Class numerous times, and founded the Double-Nickel Club, as you might guess, a requirement being fifty-five years of age. The lively group shared trips, theatre, concerts, and always good food. Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, due to premature birth; a son, Alden Frances, age 25, due to an accident; her husband, Chester Otto, age 62; her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Hershell Kincaid; one sister, Oletha Berger; and one nephew, John Berger.
