                Memoir
   Lucretia Blanchard was born in New York
state August 7, 1807, died at the home of
her son Edwin Blanchard, Belleville Kansas,
Dec. 4, 1896, she had been a cripple 40 years
and died from the effect of a fall received
two weeks ago. She was a member of the M. E.
church and trusted in God, and expressed her
willingness to "depart and be with Christ
which was far better." She was a loving
mother. She leaves three sons to mourn her
departure. The funeral services were held in
the M. E. church Sunday at two o'clock, 
conducted by the write. A large concourse of
people were present and the remains were 
deposited in the Belleville cemetery.
