            EXPECT ATTACK ON WILL
Barber County Rancher Who Left $50,000 in Hard Eared
Property, Didn't Leave It to Suit Heirs
     ATTORNEYS EXPECT FIRST WIFE TO CONTEST
Case Will Be Fought Out In Wichita Where Rich
Rancher Died Last Monday.
   After spending the greater part of his life in
amassing a fortune worth about $50,000 by his
frugality and thrift, W. D. Crawford, a middle
aged farmer of Sharon, Kan., did not live to 
enjoy it. Mr. Crawford died last Friday in a
Wichita hospital and was buried in Sharon
Monday.
   This fortune which Mr. Crawford accumulated
may be the object of a fight that is expected 
to take place between heirs of the deceased. 
Mr. Crawford, who had been married twice, left
a will leaving $500 to his brother, J. F.
Crawford of Sharon, half the remaining to his
present wife and the other half to two grand
children, heirs of children by a previous wife.
   The will was made in Sharon on April 9, 1913,
and named C. Q. Chandler of Wichita as executor.
The will was filed in the probate court Tuesday
and the hearing for probating it will occur in
the near future. Chester I. Long, former United
States senator, has been retained as counsel by
Mr. Chandler, the executor, and some of the
heirs. Dale & Amidon have been retained by Mrs.
Crawford.
   It is expected in legal circles by those
who are aware of the conditions that the will 
will be contested by Mrs. Crawford.
