Those who shared in his life are his wife, June; daughter, Maria (Darren) Hansen; Cole and Mathew of Augusta, Kan; son, Allen (Raylin) Ledbetter and Grant of El Dorado, Kan; sisters, June Murphy of Pratt, Kan. And Jane Adams of Grove, Okla. Tom was born November 11, 1945 to Virgil and Bessie Ledbetter of Peru, Kan. He grew up in Peru and graduated from Cedar Vale, Kan in 1964. He joined the Marines, doing his basic training at Camp Pendleton, Cal. Tom served his country in the Vietnam War. He completed his duties in 1968 and was discharged with Honorable Mention. Tom was a Veteran of Foreign Wars and a lifetime member of VFW Post 1174 in El Dorado. He was a member of St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church and a five-year member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom enjoyed carving, gardening, pulling the slot handles, spending time with his grandhildren and entertaining his many family and friends at his annual Mountain Oyster Feed. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and two brothers. Mass of Christian Burial for Tom will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church at 10 a.m. In El Dorado, Kan. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Wichita under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
