He was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Alexander, Nov. 6th, 1838, with whom he lived happily for near half a century. They removed to Illinois in 1848, living a number of years near Huntsville in Schuyler county. In 1878 they removed to Sedgwick county, Kansas, and settled on a farm which he cultivated till about a year ago, when they removed to Wichita, where, on the 14th day of December, 1887, surrounded by his children and his dear old companion, and in the full possession of all his mental faculties and his triumphant faith, he gently passed away to meet that savior he had so loved and trusted. Mr. Roach was only sick about three weeks, but his sufferings were very great, yet he bore all with christian patience. During his sickness he made his will and arranged all his temporal affairs, and was fully conscious up to the last. Thus passed away a good man, an affectionate husband, a kind father and a worthy citizen. He was always ready to do his part in every good work in his neighborhood. He leaves a widow, five sons and a daughter to mourn their loss. Additional Comments: He was the son of John Roach and Mary Kirkpatrick and is buried at Seltzer Cemetery in Wichita File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/sedgwick/obits/r/roach2407ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
