Born in Marion, IL, Nov. 29, 1913 to Charles and Nora Thran, she married Charles C. Rodd in 1936. He worked for Gulf Oil for many years, then established the oil department at the Fourth National Bank in Wichita where he was Vice-President. Rosetta was an avid golfer and helped with the Junior Golf program at Crestview. Charles died in 1980. Rosetta married Jim Stevens, a retired manufacturing engineer in 1983, and they lived at Crestview until his death five years later. She resided at Georgetown in Wichita until she moved to Arizona in 1994. With her musical talents Rosetta loved to entertain. She was a pianist and church organist. She loved to knit, making over 1000 caps for a homeless program in Mesa. Survivors: children, Barbara (Roger) Ellis of Mesa; Marcia Rodd (fiancee Bill Lewis). Hollywood, CA; Stephen Rodd (Janie), New York City; and stepdaughter Susan (Jim) Hatfield), Bosque Farms, NM. She had 5 grandchildren, Susan (deceased), Julie, Laurie, Zachary, and Farrell; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, Jason and Wynn; and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Rosetta was a proud Willed Body Donor to the University of Arizona Medical School, Tucson. A celebration of Rosie's life will be held Dec. 5 in Mesa.
