She taught in the Kansas City school district for a total of 41 years before her
retirement in 1986 while at Marlborough School. Lucia was a graduate of Central
Missouri State University and a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority as well as
the honorary societies of Alpha Phi Delta and Kappa Delta Pi. She was a member
of several educational organizations, a 50 year member of Grandview Eastern
Star, and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO.
