This announcement follows the dicision of Manager Elliott to leave Dave at home when the team went to Portland, and means that young Frank Elliott has won out in the battle for second strink maskman. Griffith's failure to win a berth with the Oaks is a puzzle to those who knew him in the Western League. Griffith with Wichita, wasas full of pep and energy as a U Boat in the Irish Sea. He was ratedas a promising backstop, and came very highly recommended. Griffith undoubtedly found it hard to be an understudy to Manager Elliott. "Rowdy" had the young maskman's goat right from the start, and Dave, trying to alter his style, lost his confidence and could not get along. He has been given his five days notice of release.
