A deal has been arranged, according to Griffith, for his transfer from Houston to Galveston in the Texas League. The transfer was made so that Griffith could pilot the Texas League Club in the pennant race next season. Griffith is well known here as he played on the Wichita club several years ago. He caught there a couple of seasons and then went to the coast league. He came back to the Western as a member of the Oklahoma City club and was always a prominent figure while with that team. Last season he obtained his transfe to the Texas League. Davy, as his friends call him, is a peppery player on the ball field who has always made himself known by his dash and scrap. He knows baseball thorougly and should make a good manager. Griffith is in Wichita now, taking consistory work. He spends his winters here as a rule.
