Eliza's father's name was Abijah Hayward, and her father-in- law's name was Joshua Berry. The birthplace of her father, name of her mother, and birthplace of her mother are not given on the death certificate. The informant "Laura E. McClellan", is the married daughter of Lewis and Eliza (Hayward) Berry. The Lewis Berry family lived in Benton County Iowa from approximately 1851 until approximately 1876. The family then moved to Sedgwick County, Kansas and remained there until Lewis's death in 1907. Eliza later moved to Denver County Colorado to live with her son. She remained in Colorado until her death in 1923, but was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita Kansas next to her husband Lewis Berry.
