It is 165 miles long from east to west and 34 miles wide from north to south. The Beaver river heads in the west end and runs through to the east end, with numerous tributaries entering into it. The land is covered with a heavy growth of buffalo grass, blue stem and other grasses. What land has been cultivated has proved to be very productive. This land is subject to Homestead entry, and parties coming from the East should come to Liberal, the terminus of the Rock Island, R.R.
