Ago in Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. J.U. SMITH of 706 North Pershing avenue, Sunday observed their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary, a family dinner being given at the home of their granddaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harold TENNETT, in Dodge City. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were wed at Sheridan, Iowa, on March 26, 1885, and resided in Iowa until they moved to Liberal in April, 1912, this being their home since that time. They have five children living, Roy O. SMITH, manager of the Liberal Lumber company, Bert SMITH of Dodge City, Earl SMITH of Elkhart, Dr. Frank SMITH of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Mrs. Mae WITT of Los Angeles. One son, Harold SMITH, died in France while enroute to Germany with the Army of Occupation. Present at the dinner in Dodge City Sunday wer Mr. and Mrs. J.U. SMITH, Mr. and Mrs. Bert L. Smith, Harold, Richard, Virginia, and Leland, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Smith, Junior and Donna, Mr. and Mrs. Derrell Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Harold TENNETT and Dorothy Ann. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Smith were entertained at dinner at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Smith in Dodge City.
