They were in Steel's pasture at the east well. It being then night, they made them a bed beside the water tank and staid there all night. Wednesday morning they again started for home, but after driving for some time they landed at the place where they had camped. They then started north along the pasture fence, thinking they were going south, when they came to the Foreman farm. Finding no one there, they drove to J.H. Herold's place which was in sight. Here they were well warmed and given a good meal, which they appreciated very much, as they had been out in the snow storm some thirty-six hours without food. They remained at Mr. Herold's until yesterday when they came to Liberal, intending to take a fresh start for home. Before leaving Mr. Herold's they bought two pigs and a lot of corn, so if they get lost again they can have corn cakes and pork. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/seward/newspapers/saunders245nw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
