BURR, one of the early settlers of Seward county for years and conducted a farm and raised cattle in the northeast part of the county, died at his home in Los Angeles, Calif., Thursday morning. A telegram announcing his death was received by his nephew, A. Burr, county commissioner, Friday night. Burr was treasurer of Seward county two terms, leaving the office during the fall of 1900. He and his brother, the late W. E. Burr, operated farms in both Haskell and Seward counties, their homesteads being near the county line. Later J.H. Disposing of much of his holdings he left for California a short time after serving the county as treasurer and had resided there since.
