Harter. Resident of Bakersburg Community Passes Away Monday Night. Funeral services are being conducted at the Crescent church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon by Reverend Wick, for J.D. HARTER, age 68. Interment will be made in the Liberal cemetery,in charge of Miller Mortuary. Mr. Harter suffered a severe stroke of paralysis at his home two miles east of Bakersburg, Okla., Saturday night and passed away Monday night. He and his family came from eastern Oklahoma to the Panhandle in 1904, and homesteaded the land which was his home until the time of his death. Surviving him are his wife and four children: Mrs. Alice SCOTT and Mrs. Bernice SCOTT, Tyrone, Okla.; Carl HARTER of Coolidge, Ariz., and Miss Ruby Harter at home. Carl Harter arrived Wednesday morning from Arizona to attend the funeral services.
