Son of Prominent Liberal Family Ill Many Weeks. Hugh JARRETT, 37 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Jarrett of this city, died at his home in Kansas City, Thursday morning at 12:20 o'clock. He had been ill since March and was recovering from Typhoid fever when he suffered a fall which developed into complications. Hugh Jarrett spent most of his boyhood days in Liberal and attended high school and later entered college. For the last five years he had been resident engineer for the Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line company. His father, C.S. Jarrett, operator for the Rock Island railroad company, left for Kansas City when informed that his son was in serious condition. He is survived by his wife, and a son, Jerry, 11 years old, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Jarrett, a brother, Eugene Jarrett agent for the Rock Island railroad at Nara Visa, N.M., and a sister, Mrs. Lucile MELLEN of Dallas, Tex. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon in Kansas City. The body will be cremated.
