Luther Wesley KEPLAR, 26 year old cadet from Gage, Okla., was killed at the naval air station at Miami, Fla., recently when his parachute failed to open in time after jumped from his falling plane. The young man was a son of Harry Keplar of El Dorado, who is a cousin of Mrs. Oma LYLE and Mrs. J.I. BUNYARD of Liberal. His grandfather, Wesley Keplar, for whom he is named, spent one summer in Liberal with Mrs. Bunyard and Mrs. Lyle about 15 years ago, and attended the Methodist church here. Young Keplar was a graduate of the El Dorado, Kans., high school and of Emporia Teachers college.
