Dies. Hattie Murphy Richards, Hutchinson, Lived in Liberal Years Ago. Mrs. Hatie Murphy RICHARDS, 74, who was a charter member of the Liberal chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, passed away at her home at 219 South Cleveland, Hutchinson, Tuesday morning after a six weeks' illness. Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Johnson Sons chapel in Hutchinson, with the Spanish-American War Veterans auxiliary assisting with the service. Interment will be made in the Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson. Mrs. Richards was born at Albert Lee, Minnestoa, Feb. 2, 1865. She was married to David MURPHY at Seneca, Kansas, and they came to Liberal, he being with the Rock Island here. Mr Murphy met death from burns in an explosion here 26 years ago. Six years later Mrs. Murphy married Richard RICHARDS and moved to Hutchinson. She leaves her husband, and two daughters, and two sons by her former marriage; Mrs. Stevens MATTIES, Arlington; Mrs. Maud WOOD, Pasadena, Calif.; Leon Murphy, Huthinson and George Murphy, Buttes, Montana. She had 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. (Note: Typed as printed in newspaper.)
