"Jim" Scott, 71, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal. He was born April 27, 1934, to Archie C. and Virginia M. Wightman Scott in Liberal. He married Pauline Gift in 1958 at Spearman, Texas. She died Jan. 2, 2003. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a paint, wallpaper and dry wall contractor. Survivors include his mother; two sons, Greg Scott and wife Marie, Liberal, and Steve Scott, San Anselmo, Calif.; one daughter, Katherine Underwood, Liberal; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dollie Martin, Boulder, Colo. He was also preceded in death by his father and one son, James Scott. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Saville. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.
