Mrs. Helen Settles SOBBA, wife of Joe Sobba, who died Monday, Feb. 21, at 12 o'clock, noon, was born Sept. 12, 1902, at Carrolton, Mo. Her mother died about eight years ago, and she went to Liberal, Kansas, where she lived with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. FINLEY until she came to Pratt about three years ago. When her father and brothers came to Pratt she decided to move here. On August 25, 1919, she was married to Mr. Joe Sobba, a well known young farmer living about 7 miles south of town. They at once began houskeeping on the farm where she made many friends among the neighbors. She was also well known to many Pratt people. She joined the Catholic church about a year ago, where she was a faithful member. Besides her husband and her father, A.M. Settles, four brothers, were left to mourn their loss, Harvey, Roy, Jeff and W.H. Settles. The funeral services were held in the Catholic church on North Oak street Thursday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Father George J. Schneider officiating. Interment made at Greenlawn cemetery.--Pratt Union.
