PERSONAL INFORMATION: Rodger Ray Westeman, 68, died Tuesday Aug. 21, 2007, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born Feb. 12, 1939, to Fred W. Westeman and Bessie O. (Smith) Westeman. in Syracuse. He married Donetta Donnel July 14, 1961, at the First United Methodist Church in Syracuse. He attended Coolidge High School and graduated in 1958. He spent his whole life in the Bear Creek Community farming. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, a past board member of Syracuse Co-op, a member of the Syracuse Moose Lodge, a past member on the FSA County Committee and numerous gun clubs. He enjoyed tinkering with his antique tractors, snowmobile trips, hunting, camping, fishing, spending time with his family and farming. SURVIVED BY: His wife survives. He is also survived by one son, Mike and wife, Stephanie Westeman, Syracuse; one daughter, Rashelle and husband, Thad DeWeese, Liberal; two grandchildren, Mandy Westeman, Syracuse and Macey DeWeese, Liberal; two brothers, Jerry and wife, Nancy Westeman, Wichita, and Freddie Westeman, Syracuse; two sisters, Orene and husband, Steve Martin, Johnson, and Arlene and husband, Bob Kirby, Syracuse; one sister-in-law, Oma Jean Westeman, Syracuse; and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arthur L. Westeman. FUNERAL AND BURIAL INFORMATION: Funeral services will be at the First United Methodist Church of Syracuse.
