Whitehead Dies In Ill. Funeral for Former Liberal Man Held At Meade Sunday. Jess WHITEHEAD, age 44, who was with the Paul W. Light Lumber Co. here several years ago, died at Rock Island, Ill., Thursday night from a heart attack. Funeral services were held at his boyhood home at Meade Sunday afternoon, the date being his 44th birthday anniversary. Surviving him are his wife, two daughters and a son. Mr. Whitehead was transferred to Rock Island by the Rock Island Lumber company about a month ago and his family had not yet moved from Wichita. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph FRAME, old time friends of the Whiteheads went to Wichita Friday on receipt of word of his death and accompanied the family to Meade for the funeral services.
