PERSONAL INFORMATION: Ora F. "Deac" Young Jr., 81, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Southwest Medical Center. He was born Aug. 28, 1926, to Ora F. and Bertha A. Schultz Young in Protection. He married Barbara J. Ashlock Jan. 19, 1957, in Ashland. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and re-entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. SURVIVED BY: His wife survives. Other survivors include one son, David Young, Tyrone; one grandson, Mark Young, Spearman, Texas; two brothers, Ed Young, Shadycove, Ore., and Jerry Young and wife, Kay, Ashland; and four sisters, Ramona Hopkins, Buffalo, Okla., Roxie Schmidt and husband, Calvin, Colorado Springs, Colo., Roberta Lindenberg, Sun City West, Ariz., and Rhetta Sue Moreno and husband, Jim, Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Denver Allen Young. FUNERAL AND BURIAL INFORMATION: Funeral services will be at the Tyrone Baptist Church with Elders Milton Rice and Guy Rice presiding. Burial will be at the Tyrone Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Sgt. Lawrence Wimmer Post No. 80 of Liberal.
