Schmidt, 75, died Monday, May 9, 2005, at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. He was born April 27, 1930, to Frank J. and Dorothy (Cole) Schmidt in Ensign. He graduated from Ensign High School. He worked for the Inland Empire Paper Mill in Spokane, Wash. He was a member of the Ensign City Council for many years. Survivors include one sister, Theresa "Terri" Wright and husband John, McLouth; four nephews, Steven Schmidt, Billings, Mont., Garry Schmidt, Spokane, Wash., Barry Wright, LaGrange, Mo., and Lance Wright, Olathe; three nieces, Lisa Rector, Lawrence, Debbie Harn, Rolla, and Sherrie Miller, Spokane, Wash.; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Schmidt. * Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Amazing Grace Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dodge City with Minister Siah Edward presiding. Burial will be in Banner Cemetery in Sublette.
